In order for a business enterprise to make a suitable IT investment, it is necessary to understand the objective positioning of the technology that is usable at present. At the same time, it must map out a technical strategy that predicts the trend of the important technology available in the future. Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI) names such activity "IT navigation." Since 2001, we have been creating the information technology map and the IT road map as part of this activity.
