NRI SecureTechnologies, Ltd., a leading provider of information security solutions, today announced offering the "FX (Foreign Exchange Margin Trading) System Dedicated Security Diagnostics" service to financial institutions.

This is a specialized security diagnostic service for financial systems for detecting weaknesses existing in Web systems designed for financial services that are hard to discover by commonly-used Web security diagnostics. NRI SecureTechnologies diagnoses weaknesses characteristic of financial systems by combining know-how developed through long years of experience in providing security diagnostics services and security design support and financial systems business logic knowledge accumulated by supporting information security services of financial institutions.

The FX System Dedicated Security Diagnostics is a service for FX systems built on Web systems where NRI SecureTechnologies technical consultants manually diagnose specific evaluation items set up after capturing the characteristics of FX trading that are not included in evaluation items for existing Web applications diagnostic services. For example, our service effectively prevents abnormal transactions that may occur due to the execution of irregular profit/loss calculations due to the omission of appropriate checks of designated conditions necessary for order placement. NRI SecureTechnologies also detects weaknesses in financial institutions' systems and provides advice on countermeasures before they incur damage such as monetary fraud through the abuse of such weaknesses. The service charge is a minimum \3 million (net of tax), depending on the size of system.

NRI SecureTechnologies will gradually expand the coverage of financial systems covered by the specialized security diagnostics service for financial systems going forward and expects revenue of \100 million from the service in the current business year.

NRI SecureTechnologies will help promote and support safe IT use by financial institutions through the specialized security diagnostics service for financial systems.

*The FX System Dedicated Security Diagnostics is offered as an add-on to NRI SecureTechnologies' existing Web Application Diagnostics service for diagnosis of evaluation items uniquely associated with FX systems. Commonly-found weaknesses of Web applications (SQL injection and cross-site scripting, etc.) are diagnosed by the Web Application Diagnostics service. The new service can be offered individually in cases where the Web Application Diagnostics service is already provided.
