Donation of Relief Funds to Victims of the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake

Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. has decided to donate the 37.756 million yen in relief funds collected from NRI Group employees, together with 38.244 million yen in matching contributions from the company, making a total of 76 million yen, to the Central Community Chest of Japan via Nippon Keidanren (and partly to the Japanese Red Cross Society *), in aid of the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake that struck Japan on March 11.
Prior to this, on March 14, the decision had been made to donate 30 million yen to the Central Community Chest. This puts the total relief fund contribution from NRI Group employees toward the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake at 106 million yen.
NRI and all its employees wish to extend their deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all who have been affected by the earthquake, and join hands in hoping and praying for an early recovery from the crisis.
