Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI: Tokyo, Japan; Akihisa Fujinuma, Chairman, President, CEO & COO) supports the TABLE FOR TWO activities and will participate in this program starting May 12, 2008, as part of our social contribution activities.

The TABLE FOR TWO program operates as follows. When employees of participating companies in developed countries select healthful meals at their cafeteria, ¥20 per meal is donated to support school meals in developing countries. The name TABLE FOR TWO comes from an image that one table is being shared by a person in a developed country with a child in a developing country.

With the cooperation of Seven & i Food Systems Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan; Akihiko Hanawa, President) that has been entrusted by NRI for operating the company cafeteria in NRI’s Yokohama Center (located in Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama), NRI will provide low-calorie, lower-salt healthful lunches every Monday. These lunches are also especially planned to improve employees’ eating habits. Each employee donates ¥20 per lunch and NRI donates the same amount as a matching gift through TABLE FOR TWO International (Tokyo, Japan; Masa Kogure, Director, President).

Through these activities, NRI aims to promote employee health management and, at the same time, contribute to the aid of developing countries.
