Nomura Research Institute, Ltd.

Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI: Tokyo; Akihisa Fujinuma, President, CEO & COO) has decided to establish a new cooperative scheme to strengthen its ties with leading partner corporations for the purpose of achieving dramatic improvement in quality and productivity in the system solution business.

Specifically, NRI will select, from among its partners (those with which it maintains continuous business relationships), corporations that meet specific standards and enter into “e-partnership contracts” with them.

The standards for selecting e-partners will be based on highly professional business know-how and information technology capabilities. With respect to information security, in particular, NRI will expect the partners to meet its high standards.

By the end of this month, NRI will sign contracts with several domestic corporations including those listed below.

Argo 21 Corporation
Cube System Inc.
HIMACS, Ltd.
VIC TOKAI
(listed alphabetically)

Inn the next fiscal year which begins in April, NRI will expand the number of e-partner corporations to 15 or so, including those in China.

In the future whenever NRI works to reinforce system functions or develop a new system for our clients, NRI expects e-partners to participate from the upstream process, which includes definition of system requirements and plannings. In addition, NRI will actively support personnel development in e-partner corporations with a view to improving their project management skills, professional business knowledge and information technology capabilities.

NRI and e-partner corporations will closely cooperate with one another in project management. On the basis of the professionalism, technical expertise and trust established under this new cooperative scheme, we will systematically strengthen the three most important areas of our system solution business, i.e., human resource, quality and information security. We will thus build a business model in which a sense of coexistence and shared prosperity can be truly experienced.
