Update on the NRI Group following the Earthquake and Tsunami
- Status of Earthquake Related Damage / Injuries
Fortunately, no NRI Group employees have been injured as a result of the earthquake and tsunami.
Although the earthquake did cause minor damage to some facilities at certain business locations, the NRI Group suffered no large-scale damage that will directly impact its operations.
- Status of Systems Operations / Data Centers
The power outages experienced during the earthquake initially had a minor impact on certain systems. These systems are now back on line and fully operational.
- Business Continuity and Response to Rolling Blackouts
Operations will not be affected by the rolling blackouts scheduled to take place, as our data centers are equipped with individual back up power generators.
We have initiated measures to set up back-up offices at several of our offices to cope with the fact that many employees have not been able to commute to work due to public transit service stoppages.
Our top priority is to maintain the continued operations of our clients’ systems.
In addition, the NRI Group has also enacted energy conservation measures to reduce our impact on the power grid.
